Empowering Gender-Sensitive Grievance Mechanisms: Master Trainers Prepare to Lead Change in Bangladesh’s RMG Factories

A strong grievance mechanism ecosystem with an increased awareness to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and discrimination issues actively promotes the continuous improvement of effective in-factory grievance mechanisms.

In line with this objective, the Initiative for Global Solidarity (IGS) project, implemented by GIZ, conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) programme from 22 to 24 August in partnership with the ILO Better Work Bangladesh Programme.

A cohort of 24 master trainers (including 9 women) is now ready to deliver grievance mechanism trainings to both factory management and worker representatives across 120 Ready-Made-Garment (RMG) factories in Bangladesh! They are representing BKMEA, BGMEA as well as several workers’ organisations.

This will strengthenin-factory grievance mechanism structures in a gender sensitive approach!
