ASTHA team signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shomvob, a leading networking and job opportunities platform catering to the blue and silver collar workforce in Bangladesh. The objective is to enhance the employment and income prospects of community paramedics (CPs) in the rural areas of Bangladesh.
Community paramedics (CPs) are primary healthcare service providers for the underprivileged population in the remote areas. They struggle to find suitable income and employment opportunities due to limited information, lack of network and guidance. While it may be relatively easier for CPs in urban areas to find employment, CPs located in remote areas find it difficult to set up their outlets or get into a salaried job.
Shomvob with support from ASTHA will adopt a systemic approach to address these problems. They will identify the gaps in knowledge and skills of the CPs which are hindering them from accessing better career opportunities. Based on the assessment, they will support the CPs to improve their employability through counselling, coaching, and networking. A total of 12 districts, which are project locations of ASTHA, will be covered in this partnership. The objective of these activities is to ensure that the CPs have better capabilities and increased opportunities to enhance healthcare services for the less-served communities.
