In today’s world, companies face increasing pressure to uphold human rights and environmental standards globally, with social expectations solidifying into legal mandates like the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act 2023. It’s crucial for academics, researchers, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and Trade Unions (TUs) to navigate this evolving landscape effectively.
The second session of the “Responsible Business Conduct Academy,” which started in May 2024, continued with Sanchita Banerjee Saxena, Ph.D., affiliated with the Haas School of Business and a Faculty Fellow of the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE), University of California, Berkeley.
Through this interactive platform, 20 academicians and researchers enhanced their knowledge of Research Design and Writing methodology in the field of Business & Human Rights. Participants shared and presented their experiences and insights to analyze research design, methodology, introduction, conclusion, and peer-reviewed a publication.
21 CSOs and TU representatives from the Garments, Leather, Motor, and Construction sectors and Domestic Workers interacted to develop priorities, aiming to make stakeholder engagement truly effective and advocating for a more holistic approach toward health and safety.
✨ This academy was a vital step in equipping stakeholders with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexities of responsible business conduct in today’s world.
